Eczema Products - What Your Doctor Won't Tell You.

by Tim Beachum

I have personally been in the medical profession for the majority of my life. I have met eczema sufferers from all walks of life and each of them had one thing in common. They were looking for some sort of cure. It is important for you to understand that eczema is often referred to as dermatitis or atopic dermatitis.

Chances are if you're an eczema sufferer you have come across a few so-called medical professionals. You also know how quick they are to recommend the latest and greatest miracle eczema cream at some ridiculous price. I am also willing to bet that none of them have ever told you that there are several all natural eczema products that will work just as good if not better than their miracle creams.

As time went on I began to notice a pattern among eczema sufferers. Those that were getting tremendous results were those that were using virgin coconut oils. I have also encounter my fare share of doctors that had given up on their eczema patients. In some cases the doctor felt as if they had extinguished all possibilities and none of their medical eczema products seem to work.

Thanks to the Internet eczema sufferers from around the world decided not to wait for the medical industry to catch up. They decided to take their destiny in their own hands - they began to search for other eczema products. Once again the most common ingredient that most sufferers used was virgin coconut oil. This method has become so popular because virgin coconut oil can be found in just about any health food store, and it's affordable.

What do you have to loose? Go ahead and give the virgin coconut oil a try. All that you have to do is massage the oil into the affected area and or areas. That's it! Turn on your favorite music, lay back and let the oil go to work.

For a moment I want to ask you to remember the fact that your body is one of natures greatest creations. With that fact in mind I want you to understand that nature has provided everything that you need to heal yourself. The problem comes when big business steps in the picture and begins to hide the truth from people like you and I. Although I could go on forever on that subject matter this isn't the time or place for that.

I know I may have digressed, however I am back on track now. Lets move on to another type of eczema which is known as, "contact dermatitis." This condition can be triggered by a variety of things such as jewelry, perfumes, eye glasses, the chemicals in cosmetics, lipstick, lotions, soaps, even fabric softeners. The list goes on and on, my goal is to just give you a general idea of some of the ways that some individuals can be affected by contact dermatitis.

Before you dive in head first treating yourself for eczema or testing any eczema products I recommend that you buy yourself a journal and begin to log all of your results. You should track when you have a breakout as well as some possible reasons that you had the occurrence. The reason for doing all of this is to narrow down and eventually determine what is causing the breakouts. By following this method you can quickly discover if your natural treatment is working, how long is it taking etc...

After keeping a journal for a little while you will want to determine if your type of dermatitis is triggered by contact dermatitis which is an external condition or if it is triggered by an internal condition. Internal conditions are triggered by things that you eat or ingest into the body.

Eczema... Discover Exactly What It Is

The goal of this article is to educate. So let's not waste time. Let's clear the air right off the rip. Eczema is not a disease it is a skin condition. The medical name for it is atopic dermatitis or atopic eczema. Eczema is more commonly seen in infants, and can affect them throughout their adult lives.

In Western Europe studies have shown that approximately 30% of all skin related visits to the doctor resulted in a diagnosis of atopic eczema. This skin condition knows no boundaries. It will attack men, women, children, and even those of various ethnic backgrounds. In a recent survey of doctors in Western Europe, North America and Australia it was discovered that the number of individuals being diagnosed has grown.

According to Scottish researchers children with severe eczema feel their quality of life is impaired to the same extent as those with other chronic illnesses. It is also a proven fact that young children who get atopic eczema tend to develop asthma months or even years later. In the medical field this in known as, "The Atopic March."

Although a lot has been discovered over the years about eczema there are still some things that we do not know such as the exact cause of this skin condition. Scientists best guess is that the condition results from a variety of factors including personal and family genetics, immune response and environmental factors. However stress and other emotional discord has been known to make eczema worse, there is no proof that it actually causes the condition.

Doctors have come to realize that if both parents have eczema or other disorders such as asthma or hey fever, chances are that their children will develop it. Approximately 75% of children with eczema also develop hay fever or asthma.

Do to the lack of medical advancement in this area, more and more individuals that are suffering from this skin condition have started seeking natural cures and home remedies.

It would be literally impossible for me to explain everything there is to know about eczema in one article. I do however hope you have found the information I have provided to be informative.
